Coral Springs, FL - A student was arrested after bringing a BB gun to a South Florida middle school on Monday.
Coral Springs police arrived at Ramblewood Middle School after receiving a tip that a student had a gun on campus.
The school was placed on lockdown while authorities searched for the armed student.
According to the school district, the student was showing off the BB gun, which resembled a Glock pistol, to friends at a 7-Eleven across the street from the school before classes started.
Another student saw the gun and believed it was real, reporting the weapon to school administrators who contacted police.
Police located the student and found the BB gun inside of the student's book bag.
The student was charged with one count of possession of a weapon on school grounds and disrupting the school day.
