Our Florida Governor, Ron DeSantis, reversed the order that originally deemed the WWE organization non-essential in order to help the state's economy. The latest Smackdown which took place in Orlando got the green light after several meetings and with the stipulation that it not be open to the general public, yet be nationally televised.
In a press conference, Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings spoke to an affiliate of NBC 6 saying:
"With some conversation with the governor's office regarding the governor's order, they were deemed an essential business. So, therefore, they were allowed to remain open." Demings said he hopes the organization is doing whatever it can to keep employees safe. "I would assume from a business prospective, the WWE is doing that analysis of its own family," he said.
