James Caan who played Buddy's biological father in the movie did an interview recently in which he said, quote, "We were going to do it . . . but the director [Jon Favreau] andWill [Ferrell] didn't get along very well."
Apparently, Will wanted to do it but apparently he wanted to do it without Favreau, but because of contractual obligations, it got too messy and thus has not happened yet.
