Who run the world? Girls!
Well... in this case, it's only the MLB world and specifically the Miami Marlins we're talking about! Kim Ng, 51, is the first-ever woman to officially hold the title of General Manager for a team. She became the youngest person and second-ever woman to hold the MLB title of Assistant General Manager back when she was 29 and worked with the New York Yankees. And now, a couple of decades later, she's finally broken the glass ceiling and it means a lot to Miami. Let Derek Jeter tell it... the Marlins CEO:
“On behalf of Principal Owner Bruce Sherman and our entire ownership group, we look forward to Kim bringing a wealth of knowledge and championship-level experience to the Miami Marlins. Her leadership of our baseball operations team will play a major role on our path toward sustained success. Additionally, her extensive work in expanding youth baseball and softball initiatives will enhance our efforts to grow the game among our local youth as we continue to make a positive impact on the South Florida community.”
