It's being reported that The Weeknd dropped $7 Million of his own hard-earned cheddar to vamp up his NFL halftime performance for next weekend. He explained to Billboard why he did it:
“We've been really focusing on dialing in and making performances a cinematic experience. We want to do that with the Super Bowl.”
The "Starboy" singer won't get paid for this show – no performer is ever paid, it's basically just for publicity – but with 14-minute access to 100 million live viewers, you wanna make sure you put your best foot forward.
Just last year's show alone – J. Lo and Shakira in Miami – boasted an extra 200 million views on YouTube. Remember?
