Florida's long-serving scholarship, Bright Futures, may see changes in the coming years now that Senate Bill 86 has passed at the committee meeting this week.
The Republican-favored bill would restrict the amount of money dispersed based on the major chosen by the student. Currently, the scholarship pays either 75% or 100% of Florida students' tuition solely based on merit from High School.
But some students are standing up for what they believe in and have even started a website to petition. See more below:
