22ND ANNUAL FLORIDA CLASSIC BENEFITTING CYSTIC FIBROSIS FOUNDATION TO BE HELD NOVEMBER 16 - 18, 2017 Jon Secada to headline an “Intimate Evening” on November 17
FORT LAUDERDALE, FL – (August 24, 2017) – The 22nd Annual Florida Classic Presented by Ford, BB&T and Breakthru Beverage announced today its lineup of happenings for the three-day event that will take place November 16-18, 2017. Since its inception 22 years ago, the Florida Classic has netted nearly $8.8 million for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, helping to fund cutting-edge research and top-quality care for cystic fibrosis patients.
The highly anticipated annual event will include:
BeachBash on Thursday, November 16 at The Ritz-Carlton, Fort Lauderdale
Golf Tournament on Friday, November 17 at the Fort Lauderdale Country Club
“An Intimate Evening with Jon Secada” on Friday, November 17 at The Ritz-Carlton, Fort Lauderdale
Fishing Tournament on Saturday, November 18
Formerly known at the 65 Roses Gala, this year’s dinner event will debut a revamped experience, “An Intimate Evening with Jon Secada,” that will feature a performance by the GRAMMY Award-winning artist. Guests will enjoy a warm and sophisticated atmosphere including luxurious lounge-style seating which will allow them to be front-and-center for Secada’s performance. Reserved and open seating options will be available, as well as a variety of table sizes including 2-tops, 4-tops, 6-tops, 8-tops, etc. The overall ambiance will have the look and feel of an upscale lounge.
Born in Havana, Cuba and raised in Hialeah, Jon Secada is best known for his work with Gloria Estefan, Jennifer Lopez, Ricky Martin and Mandy Moore. Secada also boasts an illustrious solo career, selling 20 million albums and topping the charts with his own style of music which fuses funk, soul, pop and Latin percussion.
The Florida Classic is one of the largest fundraisers for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s South Florida office. This year’s General Co-Chairs are Phillip DeBiasi, Heather Geronemus, Joe Hess and Gregg Snowden. The dinner chairs are Joe Batalla, Paul Sallarullo, and Johanne Marcoux.
