Mega star Billie Eilish, 18, is a talented soul facing real-life scrutiny about her body and wardrobe decisions even at such a young age. But this isn't something new, we've seen it occur in the industry time and time again. Most celebs find their own way to address the haters, and Billie... well, she utilized the big screen at the American Airlines Arena during her kick-off show in Miami for her Where Do We Go? Tour.
Billie is seen on-camera, during a concert interlude, stripping down to just her bra and voicing her thoughts on the body-shaming she's received from critics and haters, alike. She says:
“Some people hate what I wear, some people praise it. Some people use it to shame others, some people use it to shame me, while I feel your stares, your disapproval or your sighs of relief, if I lived by them, I’d never be able to move. The body I was born with, is it not what you wanted? If what I wear is comfortable, I am not a woman. If I shed the layers, I am a slut. Though you’ve never seen my body, you still judge it and judge me for it. Why? If I wear more, if I wear less, who decides what that makes me? What that means? Is my value based only on your perception? Or is your opinion of me not my responsibility?”
