Everything You Missed About Corona Virus Today In South Florida

  • There are currently 34 Florida cases in 14 counties with 2 deaths. Florida is under a state of emergency (as are many local municipalities including Miami-Dade County and the City of Miami). This opens access to funding and assistance should they be needed.
  • Miami-Dade and Broward Schools will remain open -- no plans to close schools as of now. In Broward, allsports, clubs and extra carricular events are cancelled as of Monday, March 16th. Miami-Dade will continue sports, clubs and extra carricular events as scheduled. No student or staff member in either school district has tested positive.
  • Inmates at Miami-Dade jails -- denied in-person visitation
  • Travel to the U.S. from most of Europe is restricted for 30 days
  • Senator Rick Scott, Miami-Dade Mayor Carlos Gimenez, and Miami Mayor Francis Suarez are self-quarantining after possible exposure to COVID-19. President Trump was at the same event but says he is not getting tested
  • NCAA 'March Madness' cancelled.
  • MLS season suspended TFN - Saturday's inaugural home game will not happen
