Mayors Francis Suarez and Carlos A. Gimenez are not on the same page when it comes to the new restrictions being placed on restaurants as the COVID-19 numbers continue to climb.
Gimenez originally stated on Monday that all gyms would close this week and restaurants could only allow for takeout, doing away with dining in altogether.
Suarez felt this drastic change was not justified, amid the confirmed numbers of coronavirus cases going up... he tweeted:
Ultimately, Gimenez rescinded the fitness center restrictions (so long as members wear masks) and restaurants are being allowed to offer outdoors dining.
Restaurant owners have a protest planned for this Friday at the American Airlines Arena.
