Britney Spears' Father Formally Asks Judge To End Conservatorship

The next court hearing regarding Britney Spears and the infamous conservatorship could be dramatic.

On Tuesday, Jamie Spears asked Judge Brenda Penny to seriously consider ending the conservatorship without a psychiatric evaluation – the exact thing he's been against for the past 13 years.

Reportedly, the "Toxic" singer's father said her testimony in June helped change his mind. “She wants control of her life back without the safety rails of a conservatorship. She wants to control the money. She wants to be able to get married and have a baby.”

Her lawyer commented, “This filing represents a massive legal victory for Britney Spears, as well as vindication. Mr. Spears has now effectively surrendered. There is no settlement.”

However, attorney Mathew Rosengart insisted the investigation into financial mismanagement will continue.

The star's next court date is September 29th.
