Florida is one of a dozen states affected by a recall of pet food sparked by the death of a house cat in Oregon.
Northwest Naturals is recalling a batch of its Feline Turkey Recipe raw frozen pet food after it tested positive for the bird flu.
A genetic match was also found in the infected cat and veterinarians are confident the cat caught the virus from the food. No human cases are linked to the recalled pet food.
The recall involves the 2-pound plastic bags with "Best if used by" dates of May 21st, 2026 and June 23rd, 2026.
You are asked to throw out the affected pet food immediately and contact the place where you purchased it for a full refund.
More information can be found by emailing Northwest Naturals of Portland at info@nw-naturals.net or by calling 866-637-1872, Monday through Friday, between 10 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Eastern Time.
