KPop Demon Hunters is easily one of the biggest films of the year, and many fans are wondering ... will there be a sequel? And will it focus on the Saja Boys? Kevin Woo himself has weighed in.
While backstage at this year's iHeartRadio Z100 Jingle Ball presented by Capital One, in Mercedes-Benz interview lounge, Woo agreed with fans that there should absolutely be a Saja Boys spin-off. He shared, "The Saja Boys just need their own film ... a spin-off." While he didn't provide specifics, the tease suggests that a full feature is on the table, generating excitement for K-pop lovers everywhere.
When asked if he anticipated the massive success of "Sodapop," Woo was humble but reflective, explaining, "We knew it was very special… as a Korean-American artist who rarely saw myself in mainstream media, this project meant so much to me personally. To be a role model for all these young kids out there... is really, really an honor for me."
The song’s cultural reach has been surreal for Woo, who described one particularly unforgettable moment at the US Open. He recalled, "When Djokovic did the 'Sodapop' dance in front of the whole world, I lost my mind ‘cause I’m a huge tennis fan and I grew up with Djokovic. For him to dance to 'Sodapop' — like the shoulder dance — was insane.”
Woo also revealed a more intimate celebrity encounter just days prior. He explained, "Two days ago, I performed 'Sodapop' in front of Leonardo DiCaprio. He was one of the honorees of that evening. I had the pleasure to perform 'Sodapop' with him. Did he know it? Of course. How do you not know it? It was insane.”
Looking ahead, Woo is keeping busy with several projects set for 2026, including a feature film with Anderson .Paak titled K-pops, described as "a great family film for all ages and demographics, spreading the K-pop love again."
Whether it’s performing at the US Open, sharing a stage with Leonardo DiCaprio, or hinting at a Saja Boys film, Kevin Woo is proving that 2026 is shaping up to be a groundbreaking year for K-pop and beyond.
To relive the holiday magic, iHeartRadio is partnering with ABC to bring the iHeartRadio Jingle Ball Tour to even more fans across the country, as an exclusive network special will be aired on December 17th and next day on Hulu.
