Earlier this month Gov. DeSantis signed the law that makes Strawberry Shortcake the official dessert for the state. Well, that didn't sit well with some South Floridians.
Mayors from the 305 gathered at Versailles Restaurant in Little Havana to add a little SABOR and stand-up to strawberry shortcake. Mayors of Miami Lakes, Coral Gables, and Doral met with Mayor Daniella Levine-Cava to give more support for flan. Mayor Cava issued a proclamation naming flan the official dessert of Miami-Dade County.
