Hialeah, FL - Hialeah police say they have identified multiple juveniles allegedly involved in a viral prank that caused property damage at an apartment complex last week.
Officials said surveillance cameras recorded a group of children at 6435 W. Fourth Avenue last Thursday allegedly kicking doors, striking windows and running through the property before leaving the scene on bicycles.
According to Lt. Eddie Rodriguez, investigators determined that the incident resulted in a broken window and damage to at least one apartment door.
Detectives reviewed the footage and began contacting families after identifying several children believed to be involved.
The juveniles identified so far are between 12 and 15 years old.
Rodriguez said officers have already spoken with the parents of the identified minors.
He noted that the residents affected by the damage informed police that they did not wish to pursue criminal charges.
As a result, the parents agreed to cover the cost of the repairs.
Police confirmed that no arrests have been made, consistent with the lack of any publicly available arrest record tied to the incident.
Authorities are still working to confirm the identities of additional juveniles seen in the video.
Rodriguez said the department wants parents and guardians to be aware of the risks associated with online challenges that encourage disruptive or unsafe behavior.
He stated that these trends can lead to property damage, potential injuries or legal consequences.
Rodriguez said the department will continue investigating until all participants are identified and held accountable for the damage caused.
Police are asking anyone with information to contact the Hialeah Police Department.
