Netflix is closing in on a deal for U.S. and some international rights to Zac Effron's Ted Bundy movie, Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile about the notorious serial killer. A source claims the deal is at a staggering $9 million.
Originally I just assumed the movie was going to hit theaters first like every other feature film so I was low key blown away when I heard Extremely Wicked was part of a late-fest bidding war that also involved STX and Lionsgate. Netflix will give the movie awards-season theatrical run in the fall.
The deal marks the first narrative feature buy for Netflix at this year's Sundance market
