You may remember we told you about Gunner, the puppy who was saved from the jaws of an alligator by his owner. He now has a new job- the Lee County Sheriff has officially deputized the pup as a member of the department’s Deputy Dogs program. Gunner will help the department in its educational programs as well as promoting the program aimed at serving as community lookouts!
A couple weeks ago, Gunner's owner, Richard Willbanks was sitting on his lawn chair when an alligator emerged from the lake behind his home. The gator attacked Gunner and dragged him under water. Adrenaline kicked in and Willbanks jumped on top of the gator to release his pup from his grip. it was a scary moment, but Willbanks saved Gunner and he's obviously doing okay now!
Happy ending to a story that could've ended terribly. So excited for little Gunner!
