It seems that Elon Musk is flirting with the idea of building a tunnel system under Miami to help with traffic. It started as a friendly Twitter exchange between Musk and Miami mayor Frances Suarez who invited the Tesla founder to city hall to discuss solutions for the future.
“Cars & trucks stuck in traffic generate megatons of toxic gases & particulate, but road tunnels under Miami would solve traffic & be an example to the world,” Musk said in his tweet. “Spoke with @RonDeSantisFL about tunnels last week. If Governor & Mayor want this done, we will do it.”
Miami-Dade Mayor Daniella Levine Cava even chimed in on the convo tweeting "Let's talk" while Ft. Lauderdale Mayor Dean Trantalis said, “Fort Lauderdale would love to be a part of this discussion."
